Frequently asked questions

  • about coffee capsules

Are the capsules suitable for all capsule machines?

No, only in coffee machines compatible with the Nespresso Original system.

Don't you have any coffee beans?

Of course, we do, as we roast the green coffee, and the capsules are made from freshly ground, roasted coffee beans. However, for perfect capsules, the coffee needs to be roasted completely differently (with a different profile) than for a "traditional" coffee machine, which is why we do not sell it in bean form, as what is good for capsules is not necessarily good for a coffee machine, and vice versa.

I heard that aluminum capsules are not environmentally friendly. So why do you use aluminum capsules?

In this respect, aluminium is like other raw materials: it can be environmentally friendly if it is collected selectively. Then it is 100% recyclable (in addition, our capsules are already made of 80% recycled aluminium). Aluminium can be remelted an unlimited number of times and used to make capsules again and again, making it one of the least burdensome solutions from an environmental point of view. At the same time, aluminium capsules are the only ones that provide a perfect seal, meaning that the coffee inside does not come into contact with oxygen and can therefore be stored for a very long time without any deterioration in quality.

What's in a coffee capsule?

Our capsules contain only ground coffee. Since the entire process is in our hands, from purchasing green coffee to roasting and packaging the boxes, you can be sure that you are drinking what we drink!

But you can get coffee capsules for much cheaper than that. Why does a capsule cost so much?

We use specialty coffee, which comes from the top few percent of the world's Arabica crop. The purchase price of the coffee in our capsules costs more than what you can buy coffee capsules for in discount stores, and even then this coffee is not filled into capsules, canned, etc. We work exclusively with selected Arabica coffee from growing areas or farms, from selected crops, treating the coffee beans to the highest standards from processing to roasting to encapsulation. Click on the Syndicate menu and see how you can get a discount!

What does specialty coffee capsule mean?

There are many types of coffee, from cheaper mass-produced coffees to the highest quality, specialty coffees grown on micro-lots. Coffees are classified according to an officially accepted point system, with coffees scoring more than 80 points falling into the specialty category. These represent a few percent of the world's total Arabica production, and we only fill our capsules with such coffees.

There are many types of coffee capsules available. Why should I choose the secret ones?

It's worth trying as many as you can and then choosing the one you like best. Ours might be your favorite!

What should I do with used capsules?

Never throw it in the trash! Aluminum is a valuable, recyclable raw material. Place the coffee grounds from the capsules under your plants (flowering plants will love them), or compost them. Break apart the aluminum capsules (click on the "Environment" menu item!), then you can drop off the empty aluminum at any collection point, or throw it in a selective waste container!

So you belong to Nespresso?

No, we are a completely independent, small Hungarian business. Our relationship with Nespresso is that we use the system they developed. Our coffee capsules can be made on any Nespresso Original compatible machine. Click on the About Us menu for details!
