Gatchebee! i.e. "What's up?" - Greetings from the traditional Keficho nationality, who have been growing coffee in the Wush Wush region for centuries. The area is a worthy match for the "big" and well-known regions of Ethiopia, although in the past it was more known for its teas. However, the locals realized that the cultivation of tea is accompanied by the destruction of forests (large areas were cleared to make room for tea plants), so they returned to traditional coffee cultivation, which can be done in harmony with the trees, protecting the environment much more.
The original wush wush coffee variety (a very rare, low-yielding Arabica variety) was rediscovered not in Ethiopia, but in Colombia and Costa Rica, where it became very popular due to the plant's resilience. After that, it started to be grown in larger quantities in its original country, although the total yield is still very low compared to other variants.
We bought the coffee directly from the washing station representative, so the amount paid actually went to where the coffee comes from.
